We were approached by the student property specialists Graduation Properties, Exeter who were looking to revamp the overall look and feel of their student houses throughout their portfolio. Their aim was to create a home away from home for each student, so they could live, study and relax in a inviting, welcoming and calm environment. A standard pallet of finishes was required to run throughout all properties while simultaneously withstanding the test of…well…student life! Our fresh, modern scheme provides a relaxing environment in which to study, socialise and unwind.

We looked to create an stylish communal lounge space using large wall graphics, bold colour pops and edgy prints. This is the social hub of any home and as such it was important that students could kick back and unwind in a relaxed homely environment.

In contrast to the social hub came the individual student private rooms. These are small pockets of sanctuaries where students can take a step back, refresh and study.

The pallet within these spaces were required to work in a variety of room shapes and sizes, bringing with it a defined clean identity that was warm and cocoon like while also retaining a sense of neutrality allowing for the input of individual styles. With ensuite bathroom a prerequisite to each room, space was at a premium and careful consideration was applied to ensure both function and style applied to each and every item of furniture.

The final result was a refreshing step away from the usual ‘student digs’ and the final verdict from the client … “Award winning interior designers interior schemes which truly make this property stand head and shoulders above the rest. The brief was to make this the perfect home from home, which has been exceeded.”
